HOW MASSAGE CAN HELP

Monika is a skilled and experienced massage therapist whose practice focuses on improving the quality of life for individuals experiencing pain or dysfunction related to pelvic health conditions.

We are thrilled to have her join our team at JBPhysio.

Massage therapy is an effective and complementary therapy to pelvic floor physiotherapy. It contributes to gaining and maintaining optimum pelvic health. The muscles of the pelvis can develop tension from injury, stress, childbirth, surgery, and repetitive positions or movements. It is well recognized that tension in the muscles of the pelvis can result in pain and/or dysfunction. Tension and pain in the muscles of the pelvis can be treated and managed using external massage techniques.

Massage therapy treatment can help with the following areas:

  • Pelvic pain

  • Pregnancy and post-partum related pelvic symptoms

  • Scar tissue (cesarean section, hysterectomy, breast augmentation/reduction, cancer)

  • Pain with urination/bowel movements/intercourse

  • Endometriosis

  • Constipation

  • Hip osteoarthritis management

  • Mobility
